Chokoloskee Outing

April 27-29   Outing Report

Everyone I talked with said they had a good time.
The fish camp setting and accommodations  were not to everyone's taste or like.

Fishing was a tale of two cities:

Those who fished with guides had some impressive catches

Those that fished on their own, not as good

You cannot beat local knowledge!

The Chokoloskee ecology and ecosystem is amazing! EVERYWHERE you look, looks like it should hold fish!    Which is part of the challenge fishing there.  Fish have many point, creeks, ledges, grass beds, etc. to habitate.  Bugs were not bad, except in the evenings, just after sunset.  Winds blew a little in the afternoons, but nothing like on Sunday.  The wind was pushing water over the road connecting Chokoloskee to Everglades City.

The group ate together each evening.  Gary Mirsky brought the snook and snapper fillets from the fish he caught on Thursday to the restaurant for them to fry up and share with everyone there!

Thank You Gary!

The fresh snook was wonderful!
